Blew me away. - King Kong Reviews

So my expectations for this movie dropped after I saw the original one. A) because it didn't look like it had a very intriguing look or tone do it. (like the original) and B) the adertisements were just a showcase of effects, and nothing more. But I was awfully wrong. This one is miles better than the original, for many reasons. The first being that the effects are better, naturally. The second is that they made the love story between Ann and Kong sweet, and touching, and not creepy. The effects are amazing, sometimes they look a little too animated (like the part with the bugs) but for the most part they're pretty spectacular. The original one took forever to get started. The opening scenes on the boat, and with the sacrifice took over in the first one, and it moved along like a snail super glued to the sticky side of tape. But in this one the first hour just flies by, every scene is filled with great music, and the sets are so elaborate, and its just so gosh darn fun to watch. I think Andy Serkis should be nominated for some type of award for his work as Kong. He totally brings Kong to life. There were some scenes in this film that were painful for me to watch because I felt so much sympathy for Kong, and the final duel on the Empire State building almost made me cry, but I held myself together and sucked it in. So yeah. King Kong is the friggen best movie of the year. The three hours running times just flies by, except or maybe a little bit at the end, it starts to feel a tad bit long cuz its kind of repetitive, but besides that this movie moves along like a bullet. As far as movies go, you won't be enteratined this much for a very long time. Awesome film. 10/10
