Sittin' on top of the world - King Kong Reviews
I am a true blue fan of the 1933 original. And now I'd just like to say "Thank You, Peter Jackson, for improving on an all-time classic film." In fact, this version closely resembles the original, only it's more fleshed out, the characters aren't one dimensional stereotypes, and now, Anne Darrow (Naomi Watts takes over for the original Scream Queen of Cinema, Fay Wray with far more pathos and motivation) has a part that is so fleshed out that you actually understand why Kong goes to the lengths he does just for her. The movie is neatly divided into three equally fantastic parts: 1)The Setup 2) Skull Island (this part of the film makes Jurassic Park look as if it were directed by Ed Wood) and 3)Back to the Big Apple, on top of the Empire State Building in the famous, final, iconic scene for the ages. Peter Jackson got absolutely EVERYTHING right, and this movie is just about perfect. KING KONG officially ushers the world of film into this new millenium we live in with high hopes for the future of cinema.
He deserves another Best Director Oscar for this one!
